Crescent Meditation Pillows
Filled with the same eco-wool as our Zabutons
and Ahimsa silk pillows, the wool-filled crescent
cushion provides soft comfort for sitting in
meditation. Because of the wool filling our crescent
pillow is very light. With only 1 pound of filling in the
standard model it is 1/3 to 1/5 the weight of
comparable pillows. Our Crescent cushions are
tapered to provide a shape that is very comfortable
and supports the upper leg. We feel wool is the
ideal filling for a meditation pillow.
We also offer buckwheat hull filling, good for those
who prefer a more solid and firm meditation pillow.
Buckwheat easily conforms to the contours of your
body, allowing you to create a custom fit. The filling
used in our buckwheat filled pillow weighs about 3.5
pounds.
Our Crescent Meditation Pillows are covered with
the same cotton or raw silk material that we cover
our Meditation Benches and Zabutons with. So you
can have a matching set!

Our standard wool-filled
crescent pillow is very
soft and resilient, with
about 4 inches of loft
when in use. The extra
wool model offers a
slightly firmer feel and
has about 5 inches of loft
when in use.
Why use Wool?
Wool is unlike any other filling available in that it is light weight,
does not compact in the same way cotton or kapok will, which
gives the user support without compression.
Wool fibers last longer than most other fibers because it has a
natural crimp that acts like a spring, constantly flexing and
returning to its original shape.
Our eco-wool comes from small farms in Northern California. The
wool produced is routinely checked for traces of pesticides and
herbicides. It is washed and processed without bleach or other
harsh chemicals. The detergent used to clean the wool leaves
behind no detectable residue and is biodegradable.
In addition to the comfort benefits of sitting on wool it has been
recommended by saints and rishis through the ages for it's quality
of insulating the meditator from subtle energies emanating from
the earth which tend to hold the consciousness down.
