Our Folding Meditation Bench is stable while in use, yet conveniently folds so you can easily take it with you to your group meditation or meditation retreat, making it our most popular bench. With folded legs, it easily slips into a backpack or suitcase. Heavy duty hinges connect the Alder hardwood legs to the Birch plywood top. The Folding Bench has a layer of foam and a layer of cotton batting, and is upholstered with your choice of cotton canvas.
Pair your bench with a wool-filled zabuton for ultimate comfort. Also, consider personalizing your meditation bench with carved legs, custom engraving or add both and save!

Leg Style - Angled or rounded?
The angled legs generally provide the meditator with greater support for the back to stay straight while staying relaxed. However, some customers prefer a rounded leg which lets the meditator use the bench at whatever tilt they choose. The rounded leg option is only available on the folding benches. You also have the option of ordering an extra set of legs in order to try which style works best for you. We have a number of customers that order both in order to switch back and forth from time to time. For more information see the meditation bench leg style video below.
Legs - Tall or regular?
If you're in the 5'10" to 6' range or taller, we typically recommend the tall bench. The tall bench is also ideal for customers with knee problems, as it causes less compression because you are further off the ground. We also can do custom bench legs for those that are very tall (6'4+), contact us at info@meditationbench.com for more information. Keep in mind that everybody is different and these are only general guidelines based on what we've seen from past customers. We don't guarantee these guidelines will be applicable to everyone.
It can be hard to know which height and style of meditation bench will be right for you, therefore we offer the ability to order an extra set of bench legs. The extra legs can either be ordered when you order your bench or after the fact if you find that your bench doesn't quite fit. Extra leg sets are pre-drilled and simple to swap with the legs already on the bench. The replaced legs can then be returned for a refund of the purchase price minus the cost of shipping.
