This is our most popular type of meditation bench. The folding meditation bench is stable while in use, yet it conveniently folds so you can easily take it with you to your group meditation or meditation retreat. When the legs are folded it will easily slip into a backpack, suitcase or one of our beautiful bench bags. Heavy duty hinges connect the Alder hardwood legs to the birch plywood top. The folding bench has a layer of foam and a layer of cotton batting and is upholstered with either with cotton canvas or raw silk.

Pair your bench with one of our wool filled zabutons for ultimate comfort. Also, consider personalizing your meditation bench with carved legs, custom engraving or add both and save!

Regular: 5" in front and 6 1/4" back. Tall: 6" front 7 1/4" back

Round Leg

Regular: 5 5/8" at the tallest point. Tall: 6 1/2" at the tallest point.

Leg Style - Angled vs. Rounded

The angled legs generally provide the meditator with greater support for the back to stay straight while staying relaxed. However, some customers prefer a rounded leg which lets the meditator use the bench at whatever tilt they choose. The rounded leg option is only available on the folding benches. You also have the option of orering an extra set of legs in order to try which style works best for you. We have a number of customers that order both in order to switch back and forth from time to time.<

    I love the comfort and beauty of the bench and the deluxe Zabuton. My body can relax completely and stay for an hour in the same position without having to move or fidget.

    It's very well made. I'm sure I'll enjoy using it. It (standard) seems a bit tall for me, but I won't know until I've actually used it for a meditation course.

    I ordered the bench with curved legs and really like it. It allows me to adjust positions slightly if needed. I love the teal color and the seat pad is very comfortable. I also got the Om carving which I love. Very happy with my purchase.

    I've used many zafus and benches over the past 12 years but none are as comfortable for extended periods of practice as Ananda's bench. While it's very easy to travel with I ordered a second one for a second location.

    I purchased this bench as a replacement for my previous bench that collapsed out from under me on the 1st day of a 10-day retreat! I got the tall, rounded legs version, and it's perfect in every way. Arrived the day after I ordered it, the finish is excellent and the hinges are very strong. The cushion is nice and thick and comfortable.

    I'm a bigger sized guy, and this bench (tall) is just the right size and feels sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about it holding up my girth. The height also takes considerable tension off of my knees and allows me to participate in longer sittings, even after having surgery on my ACL. I can't recommend this great bench enough. It allows me to focus on my breathing rather than the pain in my knees.

    Am very happy with my new bench. Love the aqua color raw silk cover and the very comfortable padding.

    I only wish I had ordered both sets of legs to start - could have saved a few dollars in having the second set sent later.

    I tried my teachers bench and decided to buy my own... this bench is better than my teachers! It is so sturdy and comfortable and beautiful. I love it!
